Sandra's inspiration for capturing florals on canvas began in childhood as her favorite space to retreat was
a vast field overgrown with wildflowers. Her childhood friends would play make-believe with the gifts nature provided. The clouds of milkweed, soft petals of the black-eyed susans, the shade cast from the towering corn fields, these were the playground inspirations of this artist's childhood imagination.
Today, as an artist and instructor, these images are easily accessed when the seasons pass with evolving vegitation and colorful foliage. Every day sparks new inspirations within her grasp.
"........I remember mesmerizing feeling that would wash over me as a child looking closely at a fresh picked wildflower. I would memorize every texture, every value and shift in color as the sun touch the delicate petals......
"Today, as an artist, I can recall those moments of innocent amazment. I look onto nature's gifts as if it were the first time. I can appreciate the beauty at our finger tips every time I render nature on canvas."
